College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving was among corporations, organizations and individuals recognized by the nonprofit group Feeding Children Everywhere in its 2nd annual Hunger Hero Awards. Our junk hauling and moving franchise is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve, and we are proud of everyone’s efforts toward this worthy cause.
Amanda Cook and Bill McKay, who own the College Hunks franchise in Orlando, were on hand at the black-tie ceremony to accept the Innovation in Collaboration award College Hunks in recognition of our company going “above and beyond in the fight for a hunger-free world this past year,” according to the Feeding Children Everywhere website.
A moving franchise that gives back
We take pride in being a company that gives back, and we know our customers appreciate our charitable efforts. It’s something we encourage at every level of the company, from individual franchises to our World Headquarters in Tampa.
Last year, College Hunks partnered with Feeding Children Everywhere to help provide meals to children nationwide. Approximately 25% of children in America struggle with hunger, especially during weekends and breaks when school is out of session. We committed to donate two healthy, packaged meals for every job completed. You can see how much we’ve contributed so far by clicking here. To kick off the initiative last August, we helped feed 25,000 children in the Tampa Bay area.

College Hunks co-founder Nick Friedman told Tampa TV station ABC Action News that as good as it is to provide financial support, it’s even more meaningful to play a direct role helping kids. “If you get to actually participate in the impact it has — whether you’re packaging the meals, moving the boxes, seeing the impact it has on the families it’s helping — it’s touching your heart.”
