College HUNKS Is Aspiring Community Champions.
Recently, several College Hunks locations across America moved supplies to aid Ukrainian refugees. The HUNKS partnered with their individual communities to donate enough items to fill multiple trucks.
In Long Island, NY, On March 4, 2022, Dr. David Buchin, Director of Bariatric Surgery at Huntington Hospital, called for donations and created the Long Island-Ukrainian Emergency Response Drive to collect donated supplies to be sent to Ukrainian refugees. Errol Toulon, Jr., the Suffolk County Sheriff, donated nearly 450 pieces of bulletproof body armor from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office to the people of Ukraine fighting the Russian invasion. Along with medical supplies, first-aid kits, blankets, sleeping bags, and other essentials collected in the drive, the four pallets of armor were delivered by College Hunks Long Island and transported to Ukrainians fighting for their freedom.
It didn’t stop there.
In Naperville, IL, the group orchestrating the drive presented College HUNKS with an opportunity to contribute their services to the community, and within 24 hours the Naperville HUNKS were prepared and ready to go for transportation. The HUNKS hauled thousands of donated medical supplies, personal hygiene, baby items and more to the shipping center in Downers Grove. The essentials collected in the drive were delivered to Ukrainians fighting for their freedom, and some items were donated to a local homeless shelter.
Other locations also joined in on helping to pay it forward. College Hunks in North New Jersey [SB4] used two of their trucks to load and deliver supplies to a cargo company that is shipping them to Ukraine. They worked with a great charity, Baranova27, run by Sasha Chmerkovskiy, who is from Ukraine.
