College HUNKS Experiences Record Employee Retention

April 27, 2022

While several companies are experiencing high turnover as part of the Great Resignation, College HUNKS Hauling Junk and MovingĀ® is an organization many are turning to for employment and business opportunities. The award-winning full-service moving and junk hauling company had a stellar year with growth and sales in 2021 and experienced record employee retention and acquisition in its corporate headquarters. The College HUNKS team member count grew by 32% last year and included additions to its IT, Marketing and National Accounts departments, all of which provide support for the brands franchise partners across North America.

"The past couple of years have been challenging for many, but our teams were committed to surviving and thriving during the global pandemic," said Roman Cowan, Brand President for College HUNKS. "We have a deep understanding and appreciation that our employees are the backbone of our enterprise. We have a People First philosophy that puts our guests and team members at the forefront. College HUNKS believes that your company grows when you take care of your people."

In recent years, College HUNKS updated its benefits structure to include increased bereavement time, upgraded paid maternity and parental leave, increased 401(k) employer match, and revamped PTO and company holiday programs. The company also offers work-from-home flexibility with a hybrid work model, competitive pay raises, and more.

College HUNKS also manages and operates their now completely remote Sales & Loyalty Center, which has benefited greatly from the Brand's commitment to team member satisfaction and empowerment, adding over 100 new agents in 2021 while experiencing record highs in retention and satisfaction.

The company keeps on growing! The College HUNKS team member count has increased by 18% within the first quarter. They have also opened several new franchise locations across the country, with sites opening almost every month. In 2021, the company welcomed 50 new locations.

"Across industries, many employees have expressed that flexible schedules and the ability to work from home are key deciding factors for choosing where they want to work, and we offer both," said Kelsie Ackman, Senior Vice President of Franchise Development and Legal Affairs. "In addition to flexibility and our improved benefits, we also boast a rockstar culture that is supported by our core values. These elements combined make us an attractive option for prospective employees."
