College Hunks Hauling Junk And Moving: Pitching Into The Community

October 21, 2015

How do you ‘move the world’? By getting out and getting involved in community events, a core value of College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving

College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving is a different kind of moving and junk removal franchise opportunity. We believe not just in providing great, reliable service at an affordable price, but also in getting involved with the community whenever possible.

In some cases, that’s meant handing out water at 5K charity runs. College Hunks franchise owners and their staff have led teams in fund-raisers for local hospitals and other deserving partners. Helping the communities that College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving serves is central to what we do.

Ready for some baseball?

A benefit to our participating in community service projects is that it gives our moving and junk removal franchise owners the opportunity to introduce their businesses to a wider audience. The team at the corporate offices in Tampa like to get out and about, too, and that’s why a recent Tampa Bay Rays game saw co-founder and CEO Omar Soliman throwing out the first pitch.

The action took place at the Sept. 12 matchup between the Rays and the Boston Red Sox. Omar got his time on the mound thanks to some support co-founder and President Nick Friedman had given to a local nonprofit’s silent auction — another way College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving’s corporate and franchise teams get behind community endeavors.

“This game was a big one, because Big Papi (David Ortiz) from Boston hit his 499th and 500th home run,” Nick says. “They should have put Omar back in to pitch later in the game!”

Good fun for good causes

Omar disagreed, saying that opening the game was enough for him.

“It was an amazing experience and a great way for us to show how tied in College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving is to the communities we serve,” Omar says. “A big part of what our franchise owners do with their teams is mentor these young people. That means not just showing them how to successfully run a business, but how important it is to give back. It was great that we could contribute to a worthy charity, and it was a blast getting to throw out that first pitch!
