Nashville College Hunks Franchise Wins “Toast of Music City” Award

A reader poll from the city’s newspaper puts College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving ahead of the competition for Music City’s moving needs

When The Tennessean does its annual “Toast of Music City” reader’s choice balloting, the competition is fierce. This year, when the dust settled and the newspaper tallied up the votes, the Nashville College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving junk removal and moving franchise came out on top.

“We knew our name had come up, because we were contacted by the newspaper and asked if we wanted to take part,” says Patrick Lombardi, owner. “We said we absolutely would, and so our name was on the online ballot that went out for people to click into and vote for vendors in many different categories.”

Robust social media campaign pays off

The College Hunks team swung into action. Sure, plenty of online voters know all about the junk removal and moving franchise thanks to great service. Nashville is growing by leaps and bounds, however, so office manager Emilie Obermiller found other avenues to get our name out.

“She made sure that as the guys went out to do jobs they had pamphlets and fliers about the contest, so they could leave them with the clients,” Patrick says. “She’s always been a force when it comes to following up with clients to make sure they are happy, and to leave us online reviews. She just stepped it up for this contest and really worked our social media channels to raise awareness, as well. All that, plus the great marketing that College Hunks does nationally, really pays off.”

Getting to the winner’s circle

Eventually College Hunks‘ Nashville team found themselves in the Top 3 for a final round of balloting. Then came word of the win.

“When we made the Top 3 we were invited to a banquet, and there they went through all the categories to announce the two runners up, and then the winner,” Patrick says. “We were really thrilled that we won, because there was a lot of competition. But we’re very different from a lot of those people in that all our guys are full-time employees, we wear attractive uniforms, and our focus is customer service. That makes a big difference.”

Getting the victory was great, but Patrick says he’s not too surprised. The junk removal and moving franchise provides great service on every job, and that generates customer loyalty.

“We pride ourselves on our service, and we believe if you do a good job, the rest follows,” he says. “We’re part of the community here, and we want to take good care of everybody whether it’s a junk removal or a moving job. You do that, you get happy customers. You get happy customers, they vote for you in a fun contest like this one, and you come out No. 1. You do a great job for people, and the rest will work out for you.”
