Fort Lauderdale H.U.N.K.S. Give Back To Their Community

Fort Lauderdale H.U.N.K.S. Give Back to Their CommunityHere at the Hollywood, Florida, branch of College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk and Moving, we strive to give back to our community and be role models in the community. It is our mission to participate in community-based events a few times per month. To date, we have participated in numerous community events, as well as both fundraising and entertainment events. Some notable past events have included: Burger Battle and Smoke on the Water, both of which benefited RiverWalk Fort Lauderdale, the Wilton Manors Pet Walk, which benefited Pet Project for Pets, and Channel 10 WPLG’s My Future My Choice Big Book Drive.

Not only do we participate in events but we routinely provide move, labor and junk removal services for non-profit organizations such as: Best Buddies, which establishes a global volunteer movement that creates one-on-one friendships with people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Camillus House which focuses on transforming people’s lives from living on the streets to live in permanent housing, and Operation Sacred Trust which takes care of veterans and helps them change their lives to prevent homelessness, build family relationships, and build a more steady home life. We do as much as we can to benefit our community and continue to spread the word about College H.U.N.K.S.

We have two events in October 2016. The first is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease. This is a 2-3 mile walk to help raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s care, support, research, awareness, and advocacy. We are responsible for all the logistics of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease, including bringing all of the materials to the event, assisting in setting up the event, distributing water for the event participants, and then breaking down the event upon its conclusion. We are also participating in a silent auction held at the Tower Club in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, benefitting Augie’s Quest: Winning the War Against ALS, Alzheimer’s Association: Help Fight Alzheimer’s and – ClubCorp Employee Partners Care Foundation: Helping ClubCorp Employee Partners in Times of Crisis.

You can also find us at all of the Florida Panthers home games, held at the BB&T Center, in Sunrise, as well as all of the Miami Dolphins home games, held at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami Gardens. If you see us, please be sure to say hi.

Here at College H.U.N.K.S. we do our best to be involved with, and support, our community in any way possible. Whether that is going to entertainment events, doing work for non-profit organizations, or going to awareness events, you can be guaranteed to see us at events within our community. Not only do we work here, we live here, and it is our duty to give back to our community.
