Interview with Nathaniel Bruno, franchise partner
How did you get involved in this business?
I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s in business administration and a focus in information systems in 2005. I moved back to Washington, D.C., and began a career as a web developer. I got bored with corporate life and moved to Denver in January 2007, only to quickly realize that working in an office in beautiful Colorado was going to be a waste of time. I started my own junk-removal company in May 2007, but was approached by Nick Friedman, president of College Hunks Hauling Junk, in August 2007 about converting my company to a franchise. I signed on and began operating as part of the College Hunks Hauling Junk family in Denver in October 2007. The streamlined junk-removal operations, the client loyalty center (call center) and the superb leadership of Nick and Omar drew me to purchasing the College Hunks Hauling Junk franchise. The leadership was a very big factor for me. Also, I had complete confidence in the value of the service that we sell.
What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
We don’t want to be the best junk hauler or mover that a client has ever had — we want to be the best service professional that you have ever hired. We want to wow you so that you will not only use us again in the future, but also tell all of your friends about the College Hunks. Our hunks consistently get 10 out of 10 ratings and reviews from clients which represent the great work we do.
What do you like best about your line of work?
Helping people out in a stressful time of their lives and giving them their space back.
What is your business’ biggest challenge?
Searching for the ideal “College Hunk.”
Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
We recycle or donate more than 70 percent of the items that we remove. All of our hunks are highly trained professionals and can always be trusted to do a great job. Our ratings and testimonials back that up. The Hunks also provide labor services — moving items within your household or loading and unloading portable storage units.comments powered by Disqus
